It sounds like fun.  I should be able to make it and would be up for a dinner get together of the QJ.

Old Salt, I'm in for dinner at Baldy's at 6:30.  It might just be the two of us.  Almost like a blind date.  Perhaps, I should give you a call or email on Friday.

To Westwood and anyone else who may have gone to Baldy's, please accept my apology for not being there. Next year we'll have to find a better place to do a Saturday dinner.

Alaska has some very liberal limits when the salmon are running. On that day I caught three stringers of reds that size. All were legal and delicious. We estimated about 175 lbs of reds.

'Alaska Kenai Peninsula Salmon Fishing will be at 10:30am.

'Alaska on the Cheap' will be at 4:45pm.

Thought I would give a trip report on yesterdays event. The drive to Mpls was foggy and uneventful. The return drive was also foggy and uneventful.

But, I had a great time. My first presentation on Alaska salmon fishing was head to head with Paul Schurke and Dan Cooke. My expectations were low. The room had a capacity of 72. About 50 showed up. They were enthusiastic and all stayed to the end. The Q&A was interpersed throughout and I enjoyed the exchange.

Alaska on the Cheap went beyond my wildest dreams. I showed up about 45 minutes prior to start time. I found several people lined up waiting to get in. They recognized me and we talked Alaska. The prior conference ended early so I went in to set up. The room was already half full as many stayed to see me. The room was packed full 15 minutes prior to start time.
So I decided to do some Q&A while waiting to start. Very energized crowd. Estimate over 125. After the presentation I offered more time for Q&A. Almost 45 minutes later the last ones left. Fortunately, it was last on schedule so no one was trying to get in for another presentation.
I have never seen that response anywhere. It was fantastic.
I never saw MuleLars, but I'm not sure he could have gotten in. Perhaps I'll offer it again in April. Time will tell.

More public land in Alaska than any state in US, but that's beside the point.

Actually, upon a little research I was wrong again.  I think Nevada has the most federal land in the lower 48.  Then I thought maybe I was thinking about national park land: wrong again.  California and Alaska, followed by Utah and Colorado? 

No matter, Utah has GREAT country.  I'm going to stand down now.
