I don't know how sensitive your eyes are as far as sunglasses go?

I needed safety glasses were I used to work and since I need reading glasses as well, I was looking at spending some serious money on prescription safety type glasses.

It wasn't the cost, it was the environment. Everyone there that needed the same and went that route never made in 6 months before breaking them or losing them. I decided to look on-line.

Most cheap safety glasses are terrible to wear for long periods of time especially if you’re hot and sweaty (like paddling/portaging).

I found these in clear with magnifier lenses for reading. Wore the same pair for 3 yrs before I broke them away from work. I was so impressed when I saw they made a sunglasses, I ordered two pair for my outdoor activities and they have served me well.

They have adjustable temples, silicone nose-pieces and will take a beating. Lenses will pop-out of frame before they break and you can just snap them back in.

Nice when canoeing because I can use the magnifier up close or for small map features, and not have to worry about changing back and forth.

Now there NOT fishing type glasses where you can see down really far in clear water, but they do give some ability to do that. For the price you can afford to let your fisher finder do the work.

They have dedicated fishing glasses, but there 4x the price and not anywhere near as tough.

Look under accessories they have HARD glass cases for a reasonable price. I carry my spare reading/sunglasses in one when I trip.

One thing I found that extended the life of ALL my work/play eyewear is using the dreaded "nerd" leash.
I was forever dropping them, sitting on them or leaving them laying around which often meant they were laying on the lenses which resulted in scratches and ruining them for everyday wear.

When I put on a pack/ sternum strap, I just hang the glasses temporarily on the bill of my fishing cap so they don't get damaged while adjusting the pack.

Little things, but they add up.
When they're not around my neck, they go in the little neoprene case they come in.

The "nerd" leash might be the weak link my design approach. I may have to substitute a bit of shock cord so that the glasses stay on top of my canoeing hat while I portage. They always seem to end up in the area of the sternum strap....Hmmm, have to give this some thought and start tinkering.
