Fall Outdoor Adventure Expo Nov 20-22

I have been invited to speak again at the Midwest Mountaineering Fall Expo. For those who haven't attended recently, or at all, this is a growing venue, and is more geared to wilderness canoeing. It covers outdoor adventures of all types, and is global in nature. I have been speaking there the past couple of years on visiting and fishing Alaska. I have developed a brand new program on "Alaska River Fishing", which focuses on Alaska's 3000+ rivers. How to choose? When to go? What tackle, gear, etc do I need? These and other questions will be covered. We will cover Alaskan salmon (5 species), leopard rainbows, Arctic grayling, Arctic charr, and dolly varden. Everything you need to know to fish Alaskan rivers. Wink
I have been visiting and fishing Alaska since 2004, and have learned a few things about saving money and still having an authentic Alaskan experience.

"Alaska River Fishing" will be offered at 4:45pm on Saturday, November 21, in Hanson Hall #102. Seating is limited, and these presentations have filled up in the past. Come early for a good seat. This presentation will be the expanded version over the one offered at Copia March 11-13. I have an hour for this program, vs 45 minutes in March. I also will have opportunity for extended Q & A after the show.

This is the last speaking slot of the day. As such, I would welcome the opportunity to have a QJ dinner meet & greet afterwards. I'm not familiar with the UM campus, so would welcome any dinner restaurant suggestions. Let's figure on 6:30pm or so. I hope many in the area will be able to attend. Please post here if you are interested. Thanks. Cool

That day (Nov 21) is the opening day of the WI deer (rifle) season and prouboy is coming to my place to help shoot all the damn deer that have been in my garden every night all summer. I like the idea of a QJ wingnight but you picked a tough date and as it will be my first hunt I am as likely to shoot myself or  Prouboy as a deer, we probably won't make it back to Eagan in time for the festivities.

The wingnite is in another thread. I'm speaking at the expo on the weekend they chose. I don't get to the Cities much these days, and that's when I can be there. Cool

Who is prouboy? Is he on here? Grin

By all means, please feel free to organize a wingnite when it fits your schedule. Cool

Waddya mean "another thread"? You used the phrase "wing night " about 2 posts back, in this thread! You know prouboy or at least he knows you, Mike Prouty, been posting here forever, great guy! You better lay off the wacky tabacky old salt, it's wrecking your memories. I really would like to get together with you at a wing night sometime though.

So after further review, it seems "proubiy" changed to " Puckster" recently so maybe Old Salt isn't losing his memory to the evil weed after all.

Ya, I was jerkin' your chain. I know Mike and he does seem like a nice guy. If I remember, we met at MM. But, maybe I don't remember...

Best of luck on the deer hunt. Perhaps our paths will cross one of these days, I hope so. Cool

Just a reminder. If Alaska is on your bucket list, don't miss this. A week from tomorrow at 4:45pm, and it's free. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) for details. Cool

Wing to follow. Cool
