The Mad Tarp Builder is at it again...

I made this while I was lounging around in Florida.  Found a tri-pod sun shade set-up at a yard sale for $1.00 and used it for a pattern.  Re-made it in sil-nylon rip-stop with additional loops and tie-downs.  Then I found an old 7x11’ tent complete with poles at another yard sale for another $1.00.  I paid less for all of the hardware than three pin/ring assemblies would have cost me at Home Depot.  NPR

I put it up today to revamp the pole assemblies to fit the tri-pod setup.   Four dome tent poles made the 3 longer sun shade poles I needed.  Also had to measure where I needed to attach the ring/pin hardware to hold the pole ends and will have to add loops to stake it down at the ends or tie to rocks.  The biggest advantage I see to this design is that it can be set up out in the open where there are no trees to tie to.

I also tried out the triangular tarp I custom made for the tri-pod for the first time.  Looks like it is going to work okay.  I should have made the tarp sides a little longer so they would hit the ground all around when dropped; it is possible they will reach the ground if I were to spread the legs of the tri-pod further apart.
