Anybody on QJ a fan of Rick Bass, the Montana writer/environmental activist?

I've met him a couple of times and interviewed him on two occasions (once about a pending lecture and once about then-Prez Bush's plan to sell off some federal land).

I have 12-15 of his books (including "The Deer Pasture," "The Lost Grizzlies" and "Caribou Rising") and recently took his 2009 "The Wild Marsh: Four Seasons at Home in Montana" to Quetico as my in-camp book. It's an introspective look (maybe a bit TOO introspective at times) about living in the remote northwest, divided into 12 chapters representing the 12 months. I just started March.

I love Bass' observations and can't tell you how many times I've thought "yeah, that's exactly how it feels" or "man, I've been there (in that situation)." He has a way of writing poignantly with a nice phrase that captures our thoughts, feelings and reflections about the outdoors. He also can be a bit lecturing at times about the wild in a judgmental sort of way, but frankly we all could use a few more lectures -- even stern ones -- about our lack of respect or appreciation for nature.

Anyway, has anybody read "The Wild Marsh" or any of his others?
