Crunchy food?

The tortilla chip tread got me thinking. What do people pack that's crunchy? After eating FD, dehydrated meals, or even most grocery store packaged meals for awhile I'm ready for something crunchy.

I take apples, carrots, dehydrated banana chips, popcorn, cabbage to make a slaw, nuts.

Carrots, yes.  Granola cereal, just before I pour the Nido milk on it. Southwestern flavor trail mixes with various salted seeds & nuts.  Triscuits,  other heavy-duty all-grain or rye crackers, graham crackers, my potatoes when I under-cook them....

Oreo cookies, Wheat Thins, Corn Chips, Popcorn to make at camp, Bagel Chips.  Lots of fresh vegies like onions, sweet peppers, cauliflower, brocolli, cabbage; mostly I make saute's and serve with rice.  Pretty bulky and heavy but I think it is worth it taste wise and for the alimentary canal.  Vegies keep well in a cloth or mesh bag where they can get fresh air and in June and September they will keep over a week.

I use a hard pack for food and one year I had some extra room in the pack and I like to munch on Nacho Cheese DORITOS® to keep me awake on long drives  so I thought why not take the rest of the bag? They make a decent fish breading near the end of a trip too.

Pretzels and breadsticks go along for the crunch factor too. Crunch is good! Now if I could get my carbonation fix…  Oh, with ice………

I always pack a sub sandwich and an apple and carrot for the first day's lunch.  I like to munch on the apple and carrot when portaging after scarfing down a 6" loaded sub.
