I have no conflicts this year, so I will be on hand.

And to be transparent on cost, the room is $100 per night, plus tax. We can be fluid on the contributions, depending on how many folks turn out.

And to be further transparent, other folks can come, even without a lot of advanced notice. The pizza just gets ordered by people who are interested, and we can add to the Smoky Jon's order early Saturday afternoon for Saturday night, if we find out more than expected are going to come.

We want all to feel welcome!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Scott

The suggested donations are based on previous years attendance averages. As MuleLars has pointed out, he has committed to $200 + tax for the room. We don’t want to leave him short. Donate whatever you think is fair.

Let’s keep the focus on having fun together. Cool

I just booked a room at the Country Inn for just Sat. night.  I'll do the show Sat and Sun.  See you there!

BTW, I got the Rutabaga Canoecopia discount for 109.00  I cancelled my $83. room at the Mayflower for the convenience of not having to drive back and forth to the Sat. dinner.

If you have ideas/suggestions for future QJ gatherings or dinners, this is a good place to make them. In the past, we have gathered at a restaurant, and could possibly return to that. It seems like the going rate for a meeting room in Madison is about $100. Or we could meet as a party of ____ and order off the menu Dutch treat. Thoughts?? Cool

As of now, we have eight signed up.

I enjoyed the format last year as it gave me a chance to talk with some folks in a smaller, quieter setting.  It's also nice for going over maps as there's some room to move around.

"ALLLL aboard"......the Polar Vortex!   It was so cold here last night that I noticed the town "flasher" was handing out pictures Wink

TomT,

If somebody wakes him up, I expect we'll hear him answer in the "affirmative."  Magic has to get all the sleep he can between paddling seasons.  The boy is out on the water "on the go" almost the entire season!  I'm sure 2019 will be no different.

He's just "resting" right now....

I can certainly understand the ‘hibernation’ thoughts, given our current subarctic temps. Shocked
I suspect he is waiting for a generous QJer to pick up his tab? Cool

I'm about 51% a go at this point. Not that anyone is tracking it. Travel plans may be shifting. It would mean a late night arrival on Fri and stay until early Sun AM.
