You're not likely to see them, either, where there are webs engineered by that particular type of spider...or, at least, that's my understanding.  Since I'm neither an entomologist nor an ornithologist, however,  I'll leave the explanation to QJers more qualified than myself. Or, maybe, we can get an expert in Ojibwe lore to chime in.  The reasons seem, to me, more metaphysical than scientific, anyhow.
