Re: My Goal: A Dry Tent -- Any Help Appreciated

Illini,
How much plastic do you want to carry? If you have a good tent, where the fly really covers the tent, and the floor is really sealed, then the proper location is the all important factor. It won't matter how many layers of plastic you have, if you are in a puddle, your tent is going to be wet inside. And if your tent is a good one, most of the water will be brought in on your person. A 20x20 tarp would be great OVER your tent to keep the water away from your area (no puddles) and so you can strip off the wet stuff before going into your nice dry tent. But again I ask, how much plastic do you want to lug?
