 Portage Description: Must've been part of railway system that continues to Horse.  It is relatively flat and straight.  When leaving Sandpit, the trail branches in several directions a few times.  Always stay to the right! A bit swampy at first leaving Sandpit but quickly gets nice. The loading\unloading area on Range is a bit cramped but is workable. Lake after portage: Range Known campsites: 1 Lake Description:  Basically it is a big bowl.  The Range river flows in from the South and flows out the Northeast.  There is a lot of lily pads.  The lake has Bluegill, largemouth, walleyes, Smallies, and Northerns.  Also rumored to have crappies.  The campsite is large enough for 2 tents and the river is fun to explore to the south.  Not many shoreline spots to fish. The lake is only about 80 acres.  Portage from Range into:
