Brule to South Temperance

Boundary Waters portage
Posted by: Keith Gardner
Season/Year: Summer 01
Water Level: unsure
Length: 15 rods
Rating: average
Additional Perspectives:

Portage Description:
You land on a shelf like rock. Getting in and out of the canoe is a little tricky. The portage is clear but very rocky. Toward the end of the portage there is a 5-6 foot drop. It is a little rough but it's only 15 rods. I have done this portage several time once even at midnight with a full moon (late night fishing). The South Temperance landing is very easy to put a canoe in and out.

Lake after portage: South Temperance
Known campsites: 4
Lake Description:

Starts out as a bog like river then after about 1/4 mile opens up into the big lake. The north and south campsites are the best.
