I've recently purchased a fine second-hand cedar-strip canoe and would be curious about any experiences others have had with such boats in the rugged outback. An understanding of good hull design, countless hours on the water and a maiden voyage with the new boat near home suggests that it's worthy of a wilderness canoe trip, but I'm still a bit tentative. It's such a beautiful boat, I'm nervous about tearing it up on the rocks. Who's got good woooden boat experiences they'd like to share?
