OK, I'll start. Just got back from my Quetico trip.

Things were pretty uneventful. Just my canoe partner and I went. He didn’t want to deal with a group this time. Entry Point was #32, Quetico Lake. The Access Point, Beaverhouse Lake. We were in for seven days/six nights. We were windbound for most of it and I was sick for half of it. We changed campsites once. We saw no moose, no bear, no wolves, no pine marten, no beaver, no gulls (!), no eagles, and not very many people. We did see a red squirrel, loons, ducks, and turkey vultures. We saw 3 motorboats once, and then just briefly. We saw float planes maybe twice a day but they were far less bothersome than the NFS planes we saw often in ‘97 in the BWCA. We caught no fish and had only a handful of strikes. Blueberries were prime and plentiful! We had a great time. My partner felt this was the best trip yet (because we didn't lead a group - it was just us).

We stayed in the Rainbow Motel in Fort Frances, Ontario the night before the trip. Ate Pizza Hut pizza and watched Friday Night Canadian Football in our room.

We spent a good amount of time exploring the areas of the pictographs. We couldn’t find them. On our way back through Fort Frances, a store owner told us that the water level of Quetico and Beaverhouse was 5 - 6 feet above normal -- that the pictographs were probably 2 - 3 feet underwater. (?)
