The water level was 5 - 6 feet above normal????!!! WOW! Do you (or anyone) have a sense of how that relates to the rest of Quetico?

I agree with your partner. It's tough leading a group. You try so hard to be sure everyone else is having a great trip that your's suffers. Although from your (bleak?) account it sounds like you really have the right attitude. Good friends equals good trips. Would the bumper blueberry crop explain being sick? Way too many blueberries? :-o The Quetico Lake pictos aren't as rewarding as looking for them is, so don't feel too bad. And I think no gulls means that the last people at that campsite didn't catch much either, unless they cleaned them someplace else. I'm glad to hear the motorboats weren't as bad as the planes. Maybe I'll have to do some future route rethinking.
