Thanks for the story. The Northern Lights can be pretty impressive when you finally get to see them. Apparently. you were privileged to see one of the rare, unexpected, apparitions, since 1998 was just the beginning of the upswing toward the next peak.

The year 2000 should be nice, I hope.
