This past summer, fishing the outlet of Silver Falls.
Anchored in the same spot I've anchored for the past 5 years, on the north side of the outlet (toward the end of Silver Falls portage.
Difference was, this year I had a Kevlar boat instead of aluminum or Royalex.
Fish weren't there, so decided to move. Pulled up to the anchor rock, got caught by a gust of wind and the current b4 I could get the rock loose. Tried to untie the rope from the cross piece (slip knot - just for this reason) but didn't make it. The Bow went under the current, boat filled and capsized left.
Man, that's a fast current, cause my partner and I were almost on the rocks b4 I got my head up. Young lady partner doesn't swim well, but she never had to swim, it was so fast. Stayed away from the boat - no harm done or anything lost except the gear that didn't float.
Paranoia set in the next day crossing Cache Bay in the usual westerly wind. What would have been an enjoyable paddle with the wind at my back was tempered by the thought of dumping again.
