Just something to consider.
Since walleyes for the most part hang down on the bottom, "seeing" them with the locator is difficult due to the rock/boulder/gravel bottom of many lakes in the area. What it is good for is locating the proper structure to begin searching for active fish. This can, however also be accomplished by looking for necked down areas, off gravel etc. Paddling along shore you can often see these points because you're in deeper water, then shallower, and then deeper again. What I also find is often true(locator good for this) is that when I have found the smallmouth, I go out to the next major dropoff. So many times...son of a gun, theres the walleyes. Hope this helps some. Ed
