Re: Fishing equipment

I check this site every day, just to see whats new and learn all that I Don't know about Quetico.
I use the graphite and usually mono.

I do some speckled trout fishing at the Outer Banks of N.C.
and was finally convinced to try FIRELINE in January. I have to admit I should have been using it long ago. Working lures in the surf, the line allows you to feel every little bump. A guy told me he could feel every grain of sand while working his lure across the sandbar! The limited stretch really makes a difference if you work a lure by feel or the bite is light (particularly with wave action) . The only drawback is the price and the fact that it's difficult to cut with clippers. A lot of people use small sissors just to cut the line after tying on a lure.
I really enjoy working a leadhead grub and will try Fireline on my August trip in Quetico.

P.S. The SPOOK is a topwater lure shaped like a cigar, I like the SPOOK puppy also (Just a smaller version). You can twitch it or "Walk the dog", and it's a lot of fun for watching smashing hits.
