I'm partial to IM6 graphite - makes a better lightning rod when sitting in an aluminum canoe so that the evening fire starts faster. Seriously, I am partial to graphite or boron. These materials fit my style better than glass or other composites. I don't use many crank baits, so I don't worry about missing hook sets with a stiff rod. I use mostly plastics and I want to feel every twitch of the lure, or I want to feel every pebble as I retrieve. Expecially if I'm praying for walleye - I want to find the structure breaks that I can't see in deeper water.
