I usally take a trip in the spring every year for 9 to 14 days and have found that rubber boots work well for portaging and shore fishing. Around camp we wear tennis shoes or sandals. The boots work well in spring with the cool temps, but may get to hot in the summer months.

LaCrosse is the brand of boot we use and I have had mine for 5 years. Won't take a trip without them.
