Grunt:

I tried the Converse Allstars on my second trip many years ago. It was, coincidentally, shortly after they became available in many colors. I chose a less intrusive, forest green color, though.

Previously, I never went into the wilderness without some serious, high top, leather boots. I found the Allstars pretty good on most accounts and might use them again someday, but I think I will look into some of the new "serious" boots with goretex for my next trip. It's nice to keep your feet dry and well protected.

Around camp, it's nice to have something lighter.
