The Beymer book comes with a Quetico map, with all of the routes described in the book marked on the map in red. It's all you need to start with. If you're planning your trip for this summer, you may have a hard time getting a permit for the entry point you want, on the day you want. Permits can be reserved eleven months in advance, and I imagine all of the weekend dates at the popular entry points are booked up. I'd call the park directly and check on permit availability, then contact an outfitter near the entry point to reserve a canoe.
