Plants

In planning a new route, again for this year's May trip. I'm thinking of passing thru a lake which I was on in 1994(WALSHE LAKE). I recall a wonderful sunset there, that was before my partner and I even knew the name of this lake. The name of course comes from a Quetico Park Naturalist Shan Walsh. In readings about him I have found many interesting things. Mainly on the different plants of Quetico. I am amazed at the many plants which can be used for food and medicine in this park. The late Shan Walshe wrote a book on this, called The Plants of the Quetico and the Ontario. Would anyone know where this book can be purchased? Also I'm interested in any comments on plant life in the area. I've noticed a lot of neat things, from ferns growing on a rock to a plant which traps rain water then closes up sealing the water inside. Thought this would be a great topic to discuss as well as learning something new to look for on those portages, or talk about on the water.
Looking forward to reading your responses.
Thanks Greg
