Do you mean "Plants of Quetico and the Ontario Shield" by Shan Walshe? As far as I know it's long out of print. Your local library would be happy to get it for you, although it takes a while. As I recall, it's not the slick collection of glossy photos I wish it was. One of the reasons I thought QuietJourney would be a good idea was exactly what your talking about. I've been taking pictures of "unknown" plants for years. I have shots of the odd bug or two too. I still can't find names for many of them. I've been meaning to put up the pictures and ask if anyone here had a clue, and this seems to be as good a time and place as any to start. What's this?? I know its a shroom but what kind, and more importantly, what's that red stuff? The morning I found it, my inquiring mind was tempered only by the fact that I was sooo far from home, not to mention hospital. I never even touched it. Anybody have a clue?? Anyone have shots of unusual flora they want to send if we get a response on this? (BTW there are some nice new visitor pics in the album.) You might also try this link to find information about BWCA/Quetico plants. I found this site recently. I haven't had time to go back and really look at it yet. Might be worth a visit.
