One more point on the Cache Bay entry points. We did Cache Bay to the Man Chain last year (got out 2 days before The Storm). It is a beautiful route and very handy from the US side, although as mentioned before, it is pretty popular and hard to get permits for. (not impossible, however - I called in mid-May and got permits for the end of June last year) Unfortunately, the Quetico information I got said that parts of that area were hit hard by The Storm, including, Emerald, Plough, and Ottertrack lakes. Also, SE Quetico will have a fire restriction all summer, because of the storm damage. Part of the area has an absolute ban, part allows fires, but asks that you use extreme caution. You may want to keep this in mind when reserving entry points. Posted by Isabella on April 21, 2000 at 20:28 In reply to: some suggestions please... posted by Scott L. on April 05, 2000 at 16:04 |
