I must agree with Skip on his particular point. I once tied Skip to some Spider Wire and dropped him off the lee side of the canoe in the hope that, in his last few neural jerks, he might grab some bottom structure and, thereby, give me some hint of how to fish the area we were in. As a complete surprise to me, the Son of a Gun had gills! I guess, now that I look back on our long history, I should not have been surprised. I, of course, after the initial shock, was not amazed when he, upon my hauling him back in (medium retrieve, slow pump), refused to disclose the nature of the habitat. He always was a bottom feeder.
