I would recommend Base Camping for your first time out. Find and area that looks interesting, set up your camp and then just head out a different direction everyday. It is much more relaxing with less weight to haul around with you. Most outfitter's are right on a lake so it does't take much to get going. I have used Tom & Wood's on Moose Lake which is about 20 miles east of ely and I have had excellent response and help from them. You might want to ask around but with all of the trees that were blown over last year there will probably be some areas with restrictions concerning camp fires and or portable stoves. Good Luck and enjoy! Posted by Mark on June 15, 2000 at 14:00 In reply to: this is my first posted by Adam on June 15, 2000 at 00:18 |
