I will go along with what Mark said about setting up a base camp and going out from there for your first trip. I recently got back from a moving trip (changing camp sites every day) and we saw over 40 different lakes but it is exhausting! It is much easier to get used to it gradually. Everyone else has talked about going out of Ely for an outfitter - we used Tuscarora on the GunFlint trail out of Grand Marais. We have always had good luck with them and the blowdown was mostly northwest of them towards SeaGull Lake. Their e-mail address is kerry@tuscaroracanoe.com. Have FUN and I am sure you will enjoy the experience!!!! Posted by Skinny on June 15, 2000 at 22:47 In reply to: this is my first posted by Adam on June 15, 2000 at 00:18 |
