Thanks for the advice on Rawn and the Narrows. I think we will probably try to get down to Rawn to avoid the Narrows traffic and the Pickerel wind. We have done the trip from French Lake a couple of times and we have entered at Stanton -- we are going to use an outfitter to go in via Stanton. From what you say, maybe we can catch some fish after all. I really want to keep my daughter excited about this trip so she will be ready to go the next time.

And, Bushy, thanks for the heads up on Rawn area bears. We always hang our food bag, but this may be a good time to use a new pulley and rope food bag hanging rig I have been wanting to try.

Fred is a good fishing lake. We have caught nice walleyes and smallmouth there. And it is seldom visited-- just far enough off the beaten path. Good luck.
