The entire area bounded on the South by the US / Canadian border lakes, (Saganaga to Lac La Croix) and on the North by the Maligne River (Saganaga, through Saganagons, Kawnipi, etc.) is known as Hunter Island (though it's clearly not a single "island"). I don't remember where the name originated.
