Re: To go or not to go ... help us decide please

My advise would be to go for the BWCA trip. I would recommend a starting point in Moose Lake and use an outfitter in the Moose Lake area, my personal choice would be Tom and Woods. You could arrange for a tow ride to the Flash Lake portage to get off the motor lakes and then go through Flash into Ensign Lake and work your way back into Ashigan, Gibson and Cattyman ( very neat falls here) to Jordan. While this is a very common route you can find the solitude you are looking for by working your way back into Jordan Lake and staying on the northern end of the lake on the western shore. There is even a campsite on Three Eagle Lake at Jordan's north end. I have never stayed there my self.

This trip will give you and your family a bit of everything you are looking for. Day tripping from this area is possible and you get the opprotunity to be somewhat alone on Jordan. There is a lot of wildlife in this area and even some indian pictographs in the Jordan Narrows if you watch the western wall closely.

Please let me know if I can be of anymore help.

Waiting for my next trip to the northwoods.
