Last year's trip was cancelled with great disappointment and now circumstances have changed and we are struggling with a decision to go or not to go. Help us decide. The group is hubby and I plus our two kids: 15 yr. old Ben and 12 yr. old Megan. We're thinking about a 10 day trip. We have plenty of camping experience and most of the equipment.

#1 Who paddles with whom? Neither kid has any experience. Do we put Meg in the middle and invite a fifth? We don't own canoes so practice beforehand is out.

#2 Distances need to be short so basecamping seems to be the way to go but we want solitude and great fishing. Quetico seems out since we'd have to cross big water but can BWCAW give us the solitude we desire?
