Re: To go or not to go ... an easy experience

I would recommend the Sawbill Lake area and outfitter www.sawbill.com site will explain the lake areas and guide information, etc. Outfitter is located at the lake. An excellant base camp area with moderate portages and serveral lakes to paddle in and out of, or loop around. This is a very friendly first-timer area, large enough to take advantage of remote areas if you choose. This area is worth considering, it will give you good fishing, day tripping, good camp sites, and all the natural wildlife you want. Sawbill links to four different lakes, so take your pick! Ten days is a good dose of wilderness for kids, if they need a shower or a coke half-way through, outfitters got'em. The trail and lake are located out of Tofte off of 61, just north of the district ranger station office where you'll pick up your permit. I vote you go!
