I hope you don't expect unbiased opinions on going or not from us :-) If it were me, and the weights allowed, I'd try two canoes. Ben and mom - Meg and dad. Paddling flatwater ain't brain surgery and the coaches can't be far away. Big water or not, stay close to shore. When (I'll guess) Megan gets bored or tired, start trolling. Who cares how fast you go when you're fishing. I'd be more concerned with the mental aspects rather than the physical. Ten days is a long time when you're young. Think cards, books... they could be important pieces of equipment for you. If you're purists, don't tell the kids but bring a walkman, e-games... for use as a last resort when you can't stand it any longer. If you do use this excuse to bring a walkman, bring some music for yourself. Don't knock it 'till you've tried it. You may find it to be an oddly memorable experience come about day seven.
