10 days IS a long time for first-timers. Especially youngsters. If you base-camp, multiply boredom by a few factors unless they are unusual kids. The Quetico (and BWCA) are special places to me, and for many, many others as well, as evidenced by this board, but not everyone takes to it like a duck to water. Evaluate honestly the interests and temperaments of your kids, and for 10 days it is very wise to plan on moving camp more than once. This will break up the routine. I agree with the others as far as diversions, too. A deck of cards is great, or other such things.
