Re: Saganagons to Lilypad and Jasper

Walley,

I know what you mean about the wind on Cache Bay. That's another reason we aren't excited about another trip there.

I'll bet your partners put in at the foot of the falls then try to make the turn 1/2 way down.

I wonder if they eddy out into the bay at the base of the portage I mentioned, then enter the next fast water at a better angle?

I commend them on their daring and I wish I could get a chance to paddle with them. My partners aren't that crazy - we only ran it cause we couldn't find another way out of the bay. Clearly, they're smarter than I am, cause I got REAL excited when they said "let's run it".

I'd dearly love the chance to do some "real" fast water tripping. I'm not interested in Class 3-6 all the time. I just want to do some simple 1-2 quick water so I can try the stuff I've been reading about for years. I promised my wife I wouldn't paddle fast water when I went on my Churchill weekend, and I didn't. But, it just about killed me to stay out of it. Yes, it would have been really stupid, but it was sooooo tempting. I hope I get the chance to go there again.
