One practical problem using a GPS in the BWCA/Quetico is that none of the maps (McKenzie or Fisher) have a long/lat grid printed on the maps (nor any other coordinate system). A GPS unit that gives you those coordinates doesn't help you to pinpoint your location. The only alternative, if you want to use a GPS in Quetico, is to find digital maps you can load into the GPS or spend time drawing a long/lat grid on the maps yourself.
