Re: Kawnipi fishing

Try the Falls where Cache River spills into Kawnipi right around dinner time... especially if the water level has been high and the water frothing. Just after the late ice-out of May'96, my brother and I hit a couple great hours of Northern & Walleye fishing using plugs pitched into the base of the falls. Interestingly enough, the bites ceased as soon as the sun dipped below the trees... not what I expected of the Walleyes.

There's a pretty nice campsite right there at the Falls, too.
