Re: Where do we go?

Greg,
I go to BW or Q every year, and the last 6 years we have gone to the same spot. It has everything we want, and I've been to many of the major trails, and done my share of portaging.
My brother and I did the Hunter Island trip in Sept about 20 years ago. It took 2 weeks, but it was awesome! The fall leaves were gorgeous. We didn't see another person from the time we left the Canadian Ranger station at Prarie portage until we got back there 2 weeks later. Not a soul. It was ....the best trip. We did have to paddle hard every day, rain, wind or shine. Had enough time to catch some fish, I even got a tapeworm as a souvenir.
This year we are going to the usual spot, but it is getting hard to separate the trips, because the destination is one of those hooks that helps me remember. So this year we'll probably look for another primo spot and camp there for a few days. Unless the fishing is really good, then we won't bother to leave our familiar haunts, because we love to canoe, but the tug of a fish is what we are really after.
And, I am going to eat fish twice a day if I can. There is no way that these lakes are being overfished, especially by the average Joe who catches 1-2 fish during the entire week.
