Red,
I like any fish on my striger at the end (or beginning) of the day. I prefer the kinda fish that somebody else has prepared. But after my tapeworm experience, I do insist that they be fully cooked.
The white crows are a problem, but I've also had a few run arounds by those white-headed buzzards. They will sneak up on your catch and all you'll see is that white buzzard tail hauling away your dinner, while fighting off those pesky white crows.
Yes, I've saved my "bacon" from the turtles on a few occasions, but never had a pot big enough to consider making Turtle Soup in the wilderness. What herbs should I bring? How do you gut a turtle?
