I agree that weapons should be baned from BWCA as in Quetico. In all my trips I have never come across the need for a gun. I don't fear the responsible gun owner, but I do fear the non-responsible gun owner who thinks it is a good idea to do a little target shooting across a lake and into my campsite. In my 55 years I have seen to many "accidents" with guns to be really comfortable around them for protection. I am a hunter, but I don't feel the need to keep a gun around or take one with me on a canoe trip for protection.
