Wendy:
I've been swimming as early as the last week of May. It is an incredable sensation. The water is so cold it feels almost more dense. I've never been in as late as September but I'm sure it can only be better. There are only a very few sand beaches. Most are rocks ranging in size from footballs to Volkswagens. Plus they are covered with an extremely slippery coating of alge. Getting in and out can be a challenge at times. I've found that a pair of Teva's is a must. And remember - be ULTA CAREFUL if you choose to dive. You'll have a blast. My wife and I have done three trips in our five years together - this August will be our fourth. We love it, but you do need to be patient with each other. He'll have one plan and you'll have another. You both will be dirty and tired and no one will want want to do the dishes. You'll blame each other for the lousy weather. In short, alot like home with with much better scenery!
