Re: Contest and sunsets

I haven't given it any thought yet so I appreciate the input. I haven't entered any contests in years so I'm at a bit of a loss as to how they're run these days, except sometimes they want all rights - which just isn't right.

The only restriction would be the BW/Q aspect. That's probably narrow enough already.

Perhaps categories might come in handy. It would give everyone a little direction and a better chance.

How 'bout:
Things that think
Things that don't

or

Point 'n Shoot
Gadget Masters

or

Scenic
Wildlife
People (self portrait?)
Closeup

Any ideas? What's the usual? Or are categories a dumb idea?

On sunsets -
After many evenings spent paddling to different locations (rocks) and burning way too much film, I finally swore I wouldn't shoot sunsets anymore. I had enough. I even poo-poed 'em for a long time. Little did I realize my early good fortune was partly due to the Mt. St. Helens eruption. The last couple of years I've been wanting good ones for panoramas but really good ones have been few and far between. At least for me.
