To me it's sort of like hunting. Anyone can go and get a good shot of a sunset. Just like you can most always get a good shot of a kid. Well you can shoot a deer, but it takes some skill and lots of luck to bag that trophy deer. (or photo) I too get tired of looking at sunsets, they're much better to just enjoy on shore.

You know a point and shoot division would be cool, but the pic should have the date burned in the corner. I've seen lots of good shots from those cameras and the date gets cropped during the edit. To me that shows that a great photo is in the eye of the photographer, not in the cost of the camera.

I don't think that prizes are even necessary. the only prize could be that your name and pic show up on you home page.
