I'd like to heare some comments on you're experiences/preferences in SOLO canoes.
I have done a couple of solo trips in my WENONA MINNESOTA II, and have since been thinking of finding a smaller, lighter boat.
I think that it's most important for the SOLO voyager to keep the total portage freight limit to a MINIMUM!!!!
Also a smaller boat might be able to negotiate smaller streams a bit easier.
I like KEVLAR because it is SO TOUGH!!
I also like wood trim/gunwales, etc.
I also prefer using a two-bladed (kayak) paddle for most open water travel.
I have found it very pleasing to use a thick foam pad (pool float) to kneel upon. I use the same foam pad to sleep on!!
