I would take the kids to the BWCA and do one of two trips. I would spend quite a bit of time fishing. The Mudro entry point you can either set up base camp on Boot Lake and do daytrips to other lakes or have day 1 and 2 on Fourtown, day 3 and 4 on Gun then day 5 paddle out. or Baker lake entry point. From here you will travel river and smaller lakes (not small but not big). You would go in and out the same way, but can travel around on the Temperance lakes, Cherokee and even part of Brule if it is not windy. For fishing if you are going in May then fish anywhere there is current. Any other time in the summer, bays and rivers for Northerns casting spoons and other flashy baits. For walleye's I would either bring in live minnows or salted fatheads, fishing with jigs or little joe spinners. Posted by Jake on January 14, 2002 at 14:10 |
