We are heading into Quetico Lake in August and eventually heading for the Maligne 8 days later. To get away from the crowds and the "superhighway" tag I read about Quetico Lake, does anyone have opinions about heading to Cirrus for a day or two, the area near the McAlpine "river", eastern Quetico Lake, etc.?

We are also kicking around the idea of going around Jean through Oriana, Jesse, Elizabeth, Walter, Lonely into Sturgeon. Any thoughts? This seems like a very lightly traveled route. We have rabid fishermen so is this doable to skip Jean and not be subjected to their wrath?
