Hello everyone,
My buddy and I are heading up in mid-June to do the Cache river loop, setting up base camp on upper Kawnipi and coming back through Bud and Beg. 10 days total. Does anyone know what the deal is with the Dawson Trail campsites? (we'd like to crash there the night before). Are reservations needed, and if so, can they be obtained easily? Also, any tips on the Cache river route? Some suggest avoiding the river entirely and traversing the second two-mile portage to get into Kawnipi. Is the river that bad? Thanks in advance for your help.
