I've used the Peak 1 with Outdoor Ed kids and one managed to set the whole thing on fire - it was like a rocket about to take off. I use the MSR Dragonfly now - it's more stable than the whisper lite and simmers better. It's fairly pricey a bit on the loud side, but good fuel efficiency. Both of the MSR stoves are light come with a good wind screen and use a fuel bottle as the tank. I still carry my old whisper lite as a back-up when I travel with my kids, but I've never had to use it - Yet.
