OK - Call me a an a** hole but do you really shop for your fishing gear at Wal-Mart? Spider Wire has been around for several years and the recommended usage for the line is enclosed in the package. It works great in your bait casting reels but can be a hassle in open spools. Spider Wire basically has very little (if any) stretch so it is quite sensitive. It is great for pike fishing but very poor for game fish that require some "finesse" like small mouth or walleye. However, some walleye fishers swear by it if you have the rod and reel to balance it but for straight fishing stick to monofiliment. Secondly - do your shopping at a more reputable store. The sales people can help you pick what is best for what you are choosing to do. (Wal-Mart????? please.) Posted by Fred Bear on May 27, 2002 at 21:36 |
